The business of affiliate marketing has become a popular choice for many. But learning how to become a successful affiliate marketer takes a lot of knowledge, time, and research. That’s where the 12 Minute Affiliate program claims to come in to help!
12 Minute Affiliate is a program from business guru and life coach, Devon Brown. It’s aim is to teach you how to use affiliate marketing to create a steady passive income stream using things like funnels, automation, pre-made emails, and more. The question remains, though, is this program really worth the cost? In this review, we’ll take a closer look at Devon Brown’s 12 Minute Affiliate to see if this program can really help you generate a solid amount of passive income.
Let’s get started!
About Devon Brown
Devon Brown is an online business guru and life coach. He has been hired to speak on many events, and takes an “edu-tainment” approach to his events. He’s spoken at a lot of events, ranging from New York to Chicago. As a former dancer, Devon brings a lot of positive energy to his events. He focuses on dating, fitness, entrepreneurship, and goal achievement.
He is a very public figure, but there’s little information about the roots of his entrepreneurial success. He claims to have made his first $100,000 by the time he was 33. However, it’s not clear how he got into affiliate marketing, or how he actually achieved his claimed success.
What Is “12 Minute Affiliate”?
The 12 Minute Affiliate system is an affiliate marketing program that aims to create an entirely passive income source. It puts affiliate funnels on autopilot by using automation. By using various software, your sales funnel is entirely automated for you. It isn’t necessarily as much of a course, it’s more of a “done-for-you” portal.
The 12 Minute Affiliate system claims to be able to make you money while you sleep. In many of the sales copy and videos, it boasts its users making money while in the pool, sleeping, etc. For your subscription, you get access to the software that will make Clickbank affiliate sales funnels for you. You just have to pay for the traffic.
12 Minute Affiliate Pricing
The 12 Minute Affiliate system costs $197 per month. It does come with a trial version for 14 days which costs $9.95. It comes with:
- DFY Funnels- Done-For-You funnels. Premade sales funnels you can use to make money online.
- DFY Emails– Done-For-You emails. Premade email autoresponders.
- 12 Minute Setup– Essentially, an easy setup process towards the program.
- E-Z Funnel Wizard- Create your own sales funnels in a simplified way.
- Private Community- Access to the support team of affiliate marketers Facebook group. Devon Brown adversities hosting weekly trainings on this Facebook group.
- DFY Traffic- Done for you traffic. Part of the portal where you can pay for more traffic for your affiliate commissions.
It does come with a few bonuses, such as:
- The Success Library- A general life course
- The Free Traffic Guide– A guide on generating organic traffic
- Hot Product Promos- This is advertised as exclusive product offerings not available to the public.
Oh, and also a free vacation. You read that right. Devon Brown advertises a free vacation to any new member. Once you checkout and go through with the group, you’ll find it’s actually a vacation contest. It’s easy to get confused, especially with Devon Brown advertising “FREE VACATION”, and only explaining the terms after. It’s just part of the sales tactics.
However, it doesn’t end there. The 12 Minute Affiliate system is littered with upsells. They offer to set up your system for you, additional niches (that’s right, you’re limited to one niche), and pushing lifetime access.
12 Minute Affiliate does come with a 60-Day money back guarantee. Devon Brown states that if you do not like the program, you can get a full refund within the 60 days.
12 Minute Affiliate Cons
12 Minute Affiliate is an on-demand business aimed at making money online. Rather than a course where you build the business yourself, 12 Minute Affiliate is the business itself. Essentially, you are buying the affiliate marketing system, not a course. Here’s some things to note about this program.
Income Does Not Equal Profit
Every sales copy you’ll see in this program is how much money their store pulls in per day. Here’s the biggest thing: income does not equal profit. Just because their store makes $60, does not mean that they are taking home $60. In order to make money online, you have to focus on your profit margins.
The biggest killer of this course is a complete lack of control over your profit margins. In order to generate traffic towards your page, you have to spend $100 for 90-100 visitors.
Let’s say 100 people click your ad. They claim about a 20-25% conversion rate, meaning for every 100 visitors, 20-25 people will purchase your product. Anybody that has ever ran an affiliate marketing business can tell you, 20-25%conversion rate is not realistic at all, no matter the product. I doubt you’ll see this type of conversion rate for your product.
According to Wordstream, the average conversion rate across multiple industries is about 3.75%. While it varies per industry, you are not going to see a 20-25% conversion rate for your product.
Assuming you have a 3.75% conversion rate, you spend $100 on traffic, and 4 people purchase your affiliate product. Assuming the product yields $20 commission (which is a very generous number), you made $80. In total, you lost $20. Not to mention how much you paid to get into the training program itself.
The bottom line: with no control over your niche, paid traffic methods, conversion rate, cost per click, traffic sources, or product, you have no control over your profit margin.
Another fatal flaw of the 12 Minute Affiliate System is the complete lack of control you have over your online business.
For you to make serious money with affiliate marketing, you have to scale your business. However, you do not have control over your traffic sources. Meaning, you cannot run A/B split tests, you cannot vertically, or horizontally, scale your ads, and you cannot control who your ads target.
Additionally, there’s no data. You need to analyze how your ads are doing in order to scale and evolve. Without any data or metrics to read your paid traffic, you cannot scale your affiliate business. The 12 Minute Affiliate system limits your potential.
With no access to these things, you will not see success. While you can advertise your funnel through Google or Facebook outside of the 12 Minute Affiliate system , it eliminates the need for 12 Minute Affiliate to begin with.
You pay for 100 clicks. But, they never say where those 100 clicks are coming from.
They could very well be paying for the cheapest ad source, and pocketing the money. Or they could be displaying your ad in another country. While I’m not saying that they are, I’m showing you that there’s no way for you to find out where they are getting their traffic from in your affiliate account.
You want your ad to be in front of the people who are most likely going to buy them. But without control over it, you’re helpless. The 12 Minute Affiliate program doesn’t tell you where they get their clicks from.
Let’s get into the most absurd part of this program: you’re limited to the niche that the 12 Minute Affiliate program picks for you. Any other niche, you have to pay more for. You’re limited to three niches:
- Home Business (aka entrepreneurship courses)
- Weight Loss
- Personal Development
The 12 Minute Affiliate system claims to limit it to these three niches because these are what most people buy from. If these three niches seem familiar, it should.
They’re the same niches Devon Brown specializes in. Interesting.
If there’s a new hot product, like Fidget Spinners, and you want to capitalize on this trend… you can’t. Your commissions are limited only to the niches that the 12 Minute Affiliate system picks for you. This also means that you’re competing in this niche with all the other 12 Minute Affiliate system members. While the plug and play system is appealing for a beginner, it’s proving to be an extremely limiting online business.
Don’t Own Your Business
At the end of it all, you’re at the mercy of 12 Minute Affiliate. If they shut down, you shutdown. If you want to sell your business, you can’t. If their auto responder breaks, you’re out of luck. You don’t own anything. Their auto responder, affiliate commissions, and email list are all theirs.
While this may be good for legal liability, it makes having a legitimate business extremely difficult. If you stop paying your monthly subscription, you have nothing to show for it. Your affiliate products, and your online business stop there. You are at the mercy of 12 Minute Affiliate.
Devon Brown’s 12 Minute Affiliate Quality
12 Minute Affiliate has a high program quality. The website, as advertised, is extremely easy to use. For anyone that’s new, or bad with technology, this program is very simple. You should not find any trouble whatsoever.
Additionally, the sales funnels that are premade aren’t bad. While they feel very “used-car-salesmany”, they still can be quite effective. Overall, Devon Brown produces 12 Minute Affiliate with a high level of quality.
Does 12 Minute Affiliate Deliver?
12 Minute Affiliate promises to make passive income while you sleep in their sales page. It does so by using a done for you system. Using an auto responder, your landing pages and affiliate links are already automated.
In a literal sense, 12 Minute Affiliate does do this. If you invest money and you happen to get a winning product, you can make money online as passive income. However, in a realistic setting, you won’t make any profit.
As stated, you have no control over your advertising, and as such, your profit margins. 12 Minute Affiliate never promises guaranteed profit, only guaranteed sales. You do not have access to your email list, landing pages, affiliate links, affiliate commissions, or even your sales page. If you follow the 12 Minute Affiliate, you will see “passive” income. That’s what all the success stories advertise. But that doesn’t mean you’ll see any profit. Making money online requires scaling, and without access to different affiliate products, you won’t scale.
Who Is 12 Minute Affiliate Best For?
12 Minute Affiliate is best for anyone who’s never tried affiliate marketing before to make money online. By using the program, you learn the fundamentals of affiliate marketing by doing, rather than learning. It shows you the overall process, from your sales funnel to advertising. To any new affiliate marketer, or internet marketer, it’s a valuable experience.
However, if you are looking to make serious money, or you already have an idea of affiliate marketing, this course is not for you. It’s over simplification limits you to the program, making it impossible to scale.
Is 12 Minute Affiliate Worth The Money?
12 Minute Affiliate is not worth the money. While it’s a great idea on paper, in execution, it falls flat. Paying monthly for their service is extremely expensive. Once you understand how easy it is to make a landing page, create a sales funnel, and advertise your link, you’ll laugh at the idea of paying monthly for their service.
What they provide is not unique in any way. They just set up your affiliate marketing business for you. If you cannot set up your landing page or sales funnel by yourself, you should not get into affiliate marketing.
With that said, 12 Minute Affiliate is no different than paying someone to set up your affiliate marketing business. Their business model is geared towards a “done for you” system. It’s unnecessary to pay them for what they offer.
12 Minute Affiliate Alternatives
Affiliate marketing is a very popular topic, and as such, you can find a lot of resources to help you. Here are a few we recommend:
Fiverr– Rather than pay 12 Minute Affiliate every single month, you should hire someone on Fiverr to build your business one time. Fiverr has hundreds of people willing to build your business for less than $50. You can even tell them what product you want, what niche you want to get into, and how you want it built. For anyone that doesn’t want to build their affiliate marketing business themselves, I highly recommend this.
Super Affiliate System– John Crestani produces a very thorough course that will teach you the fundamentals of affiliate marketing. Rather than paying someone, Crestani teaches you how to build your own affiliate marketing business.
One last option worth checking out is Savage Affiliates. This course is created by online marketer, Franklin Hatchett. The course is divided into eight modules that aim to cover almost every aspect of successful affiliate marketing. Topics include niche selection, email marketing, funnel basics, Amazon affiliate marketing, SEO training, and more.
Is 12 Minute Affiliate A Scam?
12 Minute Affiliate isn’t a bad system: it’s just not practical. He targets those who do not have any experience with affiliate marketing in order to justify the value of his system. If you use 12 Minute Affiliate, you won’t find much profit, if any. This system would have been great if it were a $10 monthly subscription, advertised as a software system, rather than a course. There is a need for an on-demand affiliate business model. Unfortunately, 12 Minute Affiliate does not fill this need.
